FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

ADADO welcomes all Kamba community members — whether you're from Machakos, Kitui, or Makueni, or are a Kamba descendant living anywhere in the world. We also welcome friends of the Kamba community who share our vision for development and empowerment. There is a place for everyone at ADADO.

ADADO is funded through member dues, individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and grants from foundations and development organizations. We are fully transparent about our finances — members receive annual financial reports. 95% of all funds go directly to programs, with only 5% toward administrative costs.

ADADO operates with full financial transparency. Every donor receives a receipt and annual impact report showing exactly how their donation was used. You can also specify which program you want your donation to fund. We adhere to non-profit best practices and are registered as a 501(c)(3) organization in North Carolina.

Absolutely! Many of our volunteers contribute remotely — through digital communications, online mentorship, social media management, grant writing, and technical consulting. If you're based in Kenya, we also have on-the-ground volunteer opportunities in Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni counties.

ADADO works in partnership with county governments in Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni — collaborating on agricultural programs, water projects, and community development initiatives. We maintain an apolitical stance and focus purely on development and community empowerment, working with all political administrations for the benefit of the Kamba people.

We welcome corporate partnerships at multiple levels — from sponsoring specific programs to co-funding large infrastructure projects. Corporate partners receive recognition in our communications, events, and annual reports. Contact us at partnerships@adado.org to discuss partnership opportunities.
