Our Story

Born from a Shared
Kamba Identity

ADADO — the Akamba Diaspora Advancement & Development Organization, Inc. — was founded by passionate Kamba community members living in North Carolina who felt a deep calling to serve their homeland while strengthening their community abroad.

We recognized that the Kamba people, spread across the globe, carry with them an incredible wealth of skills, education, and resources. But without coordination and direction, this potential remained untapped. ADADO was created to be that bridge.

Operating under the principle that "we are all in this together," ADADO brings together professionals, farmers, educators, faith leaders, and community champions from the diaspora and Kenya to work toward a shared vision of prosperity for all Kamba people.

Kamba People Kenya
Our People

The Resilient Kamba People

The Akamba people — known for their resilience, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit — are one of Kenya's most prominent ethnic groups. Historically settled in the semi-arid Eastern Province, the Kamba have developed remarkable strategies for survival in challenging environments.

Known as master wood carvers, traders, and warriors, the Kamba have always been outward-looking. Today, thousands of Kamba professionals and students live across the globe — in the U.S., UK, Canada, and beyond — carrying with them the values of hard work and community solidarity.

ADADO channels this global Kamba network into a focused development force, connecting the diaspora's resources with the homeland's needs — building the Kamba future together.
